Mail.app Search Deficiencies

I’d like to make this an exhaustive article but I don’t have the time at the moment so I’ll just point out the lack of boolean operators in Mail.app under Lion. Mail.app used to support boolean operators but like other features those seem to have disappeared. Replaced with a prettier but less functional interface.
